“This hotel was a saving grace for us. We had nowhere to go at 4 p.m. in Progreso and tried checking into the hotel next door, but they didn’t allow pets. El Navío, however, welcomed our small dog without any issue. It was right next to the beach so we were very happy, perfect to walk around. There was also a very nice balcony with a partial ocean view. All the ladies at the front desk were very kind and patient with us, especially since we don’t speak Spanish. The room was clean, and the hot water lasted a long time after the initial five-minute heat-up. The space was small but perfectly adequate. It also had a large fridge, a sink, and basic dishes like plates and cups, which was very convenient.”
